This document discusses exams in Cloud Academy. Exams are available individual and enterprise accounts, outside of the free trial period.
What Is an Exam
An exam is a tool to check your knowledge of a topic. Exams are an effective way to assess your skills in a particular focus area. Exams can help you understand critical areas to invest in training.
When you start an exam, you see a question and multiple-choice answers.
If you don't know the answer to the question, you can click Skip Question and come back to it later. Once you click an answer (or answers, if the question calls for more than one) the Skip Question button turns into a Next Question button. Click Next Question to move on.
You can return to any question in the exam by using the progress indicator at the top of the screen. When you have answered all the questions, click Submit Exam in the bottom right. If you have left any of the questions unanswered, the system reminds you to answer them. If you decide to submit the exam anyway, the score counts unanswered questions as wrong answers.
Note: It might make sense to guess on questions you don't know when you're sitting a real certification exam, but while using Cloud Academy, you should skip questions that you don't know rather than guess. This gives you a more meaningful score and understanding of your progress in understanding the topic.
Though Cloud Academy does not issue certifications directly, Cloud Academy exams in the Certification category are designed to mimic the certification exams, with the same areas of emphasis, number of questions, and time allotted to complete each exam. Most exams present you with questions from a larger pool of questions. You can review your exam results to help you prepare for your certification test.
Tip: Consider re-taking exams, even exams that you pass, so that you can be exposed to more of the questions and further solidify your knowledge.
At the end of each exam, your Skill Profile shows your progress. Check this article for information about how Skill Profile scoring works. If you begin an exam and then decide you don't want the results to affect your Skill Profile, you can discard the exam before you submit it.
