This article covers the steps and requirements for bulk uploading user information when you first configure your account or when you are creating and onboarding a new team. This functionality is relevant for enterprise accounts. You must be an administrator to use the procedure in this document.
Bulk Import Format
During the process of configuring your enterprise account or creating a new team, you encounter a step where you enter information about the users. You can type the names and email address one at a time or you can import them in bulk.
For example, when you choose Invite a User from the Users menu on the Organization screen, the Add Members to Company window appears. Here you can click Import CSV to add members to your organization in bulk.
When you choose to import in bulk, the Bulk Import Members window appears.
This window offers two approaches to importing many new users at once: copy-and-paste the user information into the window or upload a CSV file.
First, you can copy the user information from another application and paste it in to this one. The information that you paste in must use exactly the following format:
Email1@example.com, FirstName1, Lastname1
Email2@example.com, FirstName2, Lastname2
Email3@example.com, FirstName3, Lastname3
This approach is convenient if you have the user information in this format in a text-based program, such as in an email.
Second, you can upload a CSV file. A CSV file is a spreadsheet file where the values in each cell are separated by commas.
Tip: If you have the user information in a spreadsheet that is not a CSV file, you can open the file in your spreadsheet tool of choice and Save as a CSV.
Whichever approach you use, you click Add when you're ready to start adding the users to your Cloud Academy account.
