People who use the training library will soon notice a change in the way the training library looks. This article covers the differences in the new library for the benefit of people who were already familiar with the old library.

Training Library

Cloud Academy users will probably recognize this view of the training library:

This layout had some problems:

• It featured a large image at the top that didn't add much value but did add scrolling before you could find the training content you were looking for.
• The categories in the navigation on the left could not collapse, and sometimes the navigation pane was so long that it extended well past the bottom of the content pane.
• Finally, the difficulty level and duration of the content were available only if you hovered over the content card.

The new design looks more like this:

You will find the functionality from the old dashboard layout in approximately the same places in the new layout, only this new approach is more compact, requiring less scrolling and hovering.

New Features

Collapsible Categories

You can now collapse or expand the categories in the navigation pane by clicking the caret next to the category name.

If you use an enterprise account and have created custom content in Content Engine, your custom categories now appear at the top of the navigation pane instead of the bottom.

New Content Cards

As you can see on the left in the graphic below, the content cards are more compact while also adding more information. The content difficulty level and duration are now available without hovering. When you do hover, as you see on the right, you get even more information.

Third-Tier Category Navigation

Once you have chosen the first two level of navigation in the left navigation pane, the third-tier navigation, which is generally the content types, appears on the right side of the screen.

In the following image, the first-level category selected is Cloud Platform and the second is Amazon Web Services. The types of content available in that category appear as a list of buttons above the content cards. Select a button to filter the content to include only that content type.
